Evidences of their bravery are countless and the whole world knows it. Some major successful resistance and combat operations of Pakistan Airforce include many skirmishes with Indian Airforce. In 1959, an Indian aircraft entered in Pakistan on the festival of Eid but our fighters took down their jet and captured the soldiers in it. However, they were released after some time. Pakistan Airforce stood against all the odds in the war of 1965 between India and Pakistan. India was stroger in numbers but Pakistan Airforce was dominant over Indian Airforce for 3 days. India had to suffer great loss because most of fighter jets got destroyed by PAF. In 1971 war, Pakistan Airforce remained defensive as the situation demamded. During Soviet Afghan war from 1979-89, Pakistan Airforce was instructed by General Zia ul Haq to look after Pakistan Nuclear Research base in Kuhata. After the Soviet War was over, from 1990 to 2001 Pakitan Airforce had to send many fighter jets in American soil in order to continue their nuclear research. After the Mumbai Attacks in 2008 in India, Pakistan Airforce was put on hight alert due the security concerns as it was expected that India would strike Pakistan. Pakistan Airforce kept Indian Airforce away from the border lines. Pakistan Airforce provided its services in North-West Pakistan after an offensive operation was made against Afghan Talibans in 2009. However, this resulted in some civilian casualties too because people were living there at the time of attack on terrorists. In 2019, a rift occured between Pakistan and India as India accused that Pakistan was involved in Palwama Attack. Inidan fighter pilots entered in Pakistan and dropped bombs in woods of Balakot. Pakistan Airforce retaliated and captured Abhinandan who was released after being kept in captivity for 2 days.
