Pakistan Army is the most popular as well as most integral part of Pakistan Armed Forces. In this article we will discuss about Command structure of Pakistan Army. Basically, Command structure of Pakistan Army is based on two different themes. One is Operational while the other is Administrative. If we see operationally then Pak Army is divided into nine corps and three corps-level formations have the areas of responsibility which include not only the mountainous areas in north but also the deserted areas in the south side of Pakistan. From Administrative point of view, Pak Army is divided in several regiments. Pak army has its main general headquarter in Rawalpindi also known as GHQ.
Command Structure
Command Structure of Pakistan Army demands various officers and commanders to fulfill their assigned duties by giving them authorities according to the Constitution of Pakistan. The Chief of Army Staff is given the authority to command and lead the Pakistan Army. The military operations and intelligence directorates work under the supervision of Chief of General Staff. The headquarters function also includes the Judge Advocate General (JAG), and the Controller of Civilian Personnel, the Chief of the Corps of Engineers (E-in-C) who also serves as the head of Military Engineering Service (MES), all of the above mentioned officers report their missions, operations and progress to the Chief of the Army Staff.
Operational Structure

Corps
A corps generally consists of two further divisions which are monitored and controlled by Lieutenant General of Pakistan Army.
Divisions
A division typically comprises of three brigades who include infantry, artillery and engineers. A division in Pakistan Army is monitored and commanded by a Major General of Pakistan Army.
Brigade
A brigade generally consists of three or more Battalions and is commanded and monitored by a Brigadier of Pakistan Army.
Battalion
A battalion in Pak Army usually consists of 600 to 90 soldiers for different types of missions and operations. A battalion in Pak Army is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel of Pakistan Army.
